Peacock Fever

Greeting card at Cafe Press
Does anyone else have peacock fever? I have been hunting these birds everywhere!! There are so many amazing products out there for the peacock lover on your list.  I found the greeting card and adult tee shirt at cafepress.com. They have an incredible selection.

I'm not really sure just what ignited my fever for the peacock other than their lovely plumage. Their colorful feathers make me feel so happy. I  really love the warmth they emit. So why not give your favorite bird lover the gift of peacocks this Christmas?

Spring 2012 Colors Revealed!!

Colors of Spring by Pantone

We are all anticipating the return of spring. Pantone, the color experts, are showcasing some of the BEST colors for Spring 2012 I have seen in a long time. These lovely colors, a mix of vibrant hues and muted neutrals, can be worn by all skin types.

Pantone reveals the spring colors as follows:
Tangerine Tango, a vibrant orange
Solar Power, radiant yellow
Cabaret, a rosy red
Sodalite Blue, a navy inspired blue with a little cornflower
Bellflower,  lilac
Margaita, a yellowish green
Cockatoo, a minty green
And Driftwood and Starfish being the neutrals

As you saw in a previous post, Pleats Return for Spring, the tangerine color prevailed on the runways as well as many of the other colors. I have already seen this color being worked into the spring collections at retailers in my local mall.

Pleated Skirts Return for Spring 2012

JeanPaul Gaultier's bold orange pleated dress

Prada's pastel pleats for Spring 2012

Halston's sophisticated version of pleats
As I perused the lastest fashion magazines, I noticed the return of the pleated skirt for spring 2012. Pleated skirts never really do go out of style though, do they? So ladylike. You can almost picture a young Audrey Hepburn dancing in one.

Pleated skirts work on all body types because they draw attention to the waistline. The pleats elongate the silhouette making the body look longer and leaner. The fullness of a pleated skirt works like an Aline skirt. It gives movement but most importantly adds curves to a boyish figure while hiding wide hips on a pear shape.

Look for a skirt that falls at the knees. This is the most classic length. If you are petite, you can go a little above the knee and still look ladylike. Add a pretty sandal with a mid range heel. Tall women can gracefully carry a longer skirt. Luckily they need not wear a heel. Ballet slippers look pretty with a floor length skirt.

Be sure to add a lovely belt to show off your cinched waist no matter what your body type.
