Anna Sui's Spring 2012 Vintage Inspired Collection

Glitter for Grown-ups

Feeling festive for the holidays? You want to add some "sparkle" but don't want to look like a 5 year old?
Here's a few hints!

O.P.I. nail polish has some striking glitter polish in their The Muppets line which are perfect for the season. The red, Gettin' Miss Piggy With It!, would look stunning with your favorite LBD and chandelier earrings. Check out their web site where you can try on all of their colors.   www.opi.com

Another stylish idea is to spritz some body glitter on before you step out for the night. Go for something subtle. I tried the new Body Shop Sparkler, a light weight glimmer that left my skin feeling soft & added just the right amount of sparkle. Many perfumers are adding body glitter to their lines so look for them at your favorite fragrance counter.  thebodyshopusa.com

And lastly, why not add some bling in your hair with a sparkling hair clip or headband.

Physicians Formula Organic Wear Mascara Review

Since my battle with cancer 3 years ago, I have been more cautious about what I put into my body. My husband and I decided to include an all organic diet and have slowly been working towards this goal. To be honest, I feel great eating more organics.

That got me to thinking of other ways to live better. I've always been curious about organic make up so I decided to go the easiest route and bought the Organic Wear Mascara by Physicians Formula. I found mine at Ulta, but you could certainly pick it up at your local pharmacy as well.

For those of you, who like me, were a little doubtful of the results; rest assured. This product works!! I have been a Maybelline user for as long as I can remember, but I think I have a new favorite mascara.

What I love about this product is the soft brush. As I guided it along my lashes, it gently coated them with mascara leaving them looking lush. Not clumps at all!  My lashes ended up looking so full. And natural. The really amazing thing is that my lashes don't feel weighed down. It washes off easily too with either soap and water or make up remover (I use cold cream).

Organic Wear is 100% FREE of any harsh chemicals, synthetics preservatives, parabens, fibers, or dyes. Give it a try and let me know YOUR results. Or go to www.PhysiciansFormula.com to learn more about this amazing product.

How to wear stacked bracelets

So you have seen this trend in all the fashion magazines...actresses or models wearing gobs of bangles on their wrists and your thinking, "Get real!! Who can really rock this look?"  Funny you should ask my friend. I'm going to tell you how you just how you can incorporate this funky look into your own wardrobe.

First and foremost have a strategy...how many bangles is too much? Wear only what you are comfortable wearing. Perhaps that's only two. But you are encouraged to add as many as you deem necessary for the look you want to create. Next, keep the look harmonious by choosing your items wisely.

The simplest way to stack your bangles is by color. Pick a colorful gem, beaded, or painted bracelet. Now add another with some of the same colors as the first. Follow with a solid. You get the picture! Be creative and have fun.

Walking for St. Jude

This post has absolutely nothing to do with fashion. However I feel compelled to share it here with you. On November 19th I will be walking for St. Judes to support children facing cancer. Only 3 short years ago I was battling cancer myself. I know what it's like to live through this horrible disease and my heart goes out to those children fighting for their young lives. No one, especially children, should have to go through the trama this disease causes. If you would like to help these children, please click on the link & donate whatever it is you can afford to give. God bless you.

TREND: Leather Dresses...Really?

As I was reading the November  issue of Vogue, I saw the most disturbing thing. Celebrities sporting leather dresses. Okay... it's not that I dislike leather ladies. It's just that...leather for dresses? Really? I just can't see how this trend could possibly take off. How can you sit in it even if it's a soft leather? Will it wrinkle? How do you clean it? Its just not a logical choice. So I say...save the leather where it works best...as outerwear.

Dressing for the Season: FALL

With the changing of the seasons, we naturally suffer from allergies, colds and the flu. I've got chills just thinking about it. So what is a fashionista to do? Layers, layers, layers ladies. You can not do better than this. I layer everything. Start with a long sleeved tee and layer with a cute knit vest. What about that favorite cashmere cardigan? Wear a camisole underneath and you will stay stylish as well as snugly warm. So what if you have to wear something formal? Layer a lovely wrap around your shoulders & you have instant chic. Pashminas are wonderful and come in lots of colors to choose from. There are lots more ways to dress warm as well as stylish. Why not share your favorite way here?
