Purple: Summer Nailpolish Trend!

Deep purples in shades from magenta to plum is the trend for this summer's manicures and  pedicures. Deep purples work very well with other summer colors from the palest pinks and nudes to tropical turquoise and orange. And best yet...this color can be worn into fall as well!! Can't you just imagine your pretty purple toenails peeping from open-toed shoe boots once the weather turns cooler?

Short shorts

"Who wears short shorts?"  Remember that little jingle? I know not many ladies are willing to take a chance on this current trend, but if you are lacking in the stature department like I am...well then grab your Daisy Dukes! Wear them with a pretty tee shirt & flirty sandals. They will make your legs look as though they go one forever. And really, who doesn't want to look like that?!

How in the world does one remain looking stylish in the harsh summer heat? By simply wearing a sun hat of course!! There are a lot of nice styles being shown in the accessories department of your favorite local haunt.

Just yesterday I spied some really cute straw hats in the Towson, MD Target store. My current favorite summer hat is a little number that I picked up for cheap at a local flea market for .25!! It's a sweet, little straw cowboy hat & it's supre cool looking worn with eaither shorts & a tank or with a sweet summer dress.

Have some fun in the sun by adding a trendy hat to your accessories this summer.

Helpful hint: cleaning costume jewelry

If you collect costume jewelry like I do, and who doesn't, then this tip id for you!! Did you know you can use rubbing alcohol to clean your jewelry? Yes, the rubbing alcohol that you pick up at your local pharmacy.
Just place the jewelry in a shallow bowl & pour the rubbing alcohol over it. Make sure to completely cover your jewelry. Let it sit for a few minutes, remove, & wipe dry with a clean cloth. It's that simple!!

Floral tops with shorts

As I enjoy the warmth of the sun this time of the year, I am thinking of keeping cool while looking pretty. My wildflower garden comes to mind!! So I gather my delicate "flowers" in the form of a lovely sleeveless top (in pretty pinks!!) and a pair of well worn shorts and some flat sandals for running around the yard. Suddenly gardening never got prettier.
